 ʻAha ʻElele Lāhui, 11 Ianuali 2019, Day 2 of the Annual Convention of Ka ʻAhahui Hawaiʻi Aloha ʻĀina (Hawaiian Patriotic League) at Papaʻā Hale, Hawaiʻi Community College, Hilo, Hawaiʻi, Ko Hawaiʻi Pae ʻĀina 1/10/2019-1/13/2019: The 2019 Annual Convention of the League was centered at Papaʻā Hale at Hawaiʻi Community College in Hilo. Meetings were held with 19 delegates and 10 alternates assembled from the 7 chartered Branches. The delegate assembly adopted a strategic plan and petition against occupation, as well as 13 resolutions and 23 bylaws amendments.

11/18/2018: Central Body adopts Strategic Plan for the League 10/1/2018: Inaugural issue of League newsletter is published by the Central Body  9/2/2018: Hui Aloha ʻĀina o Ka Lei Maile Aliʻi, at ʻIolani Palace, presents its popular historical drama, "The Queen's Women," a reenactment of a famous meeting held by the Women's Hawaiian Patriotic League in Hilo on September 16, 1897, in opposition to proposed annexation by the United States.
7/4/2018: On the steps of ʻIolani Palace, Hui Aloha ʻĀina o Ka Lei Maile Aliʻi co-hosts the second annual presentation of, "The Theft of a Nation," an historical reenactment of the illegal overthrow of the Hawaiian Kingdom government on January 17, 1893. This drama, well-received by the Lāhui Hawaiʻi Aloha ʻĀina (Hawaiian national body), helps kick off the month-long July celebration of Lā Hoʻihoʻi Ea (Sovereignty Restoration Day), one of the most important holidays in the Hawaiian Kingdom. 5/21/2018: Hui Aloha ʻĀina o Puna is organized, becoming the 7th Branch of the restored League. The president is a great-granddaughter of Enoch Johnson, who was the secretary of the men's League at the time of the Petition Against Annexation in 1897. 4/26/2018: Hui Aloha ʻĀina o Ka Lei Maile Aliʻi launches website for the Richard Kekuni Blaisdell Hawaiian National Archive 3/11/2018, 3/18/2018: Central Body and District Branches hold a mass meeting to begin developing a Strategic Plan for the League 1/28/2018: Central Body adopts a resolution in support of a project proposal submitted by historian Dr. Ronald Williams, Jr. and member Justin Hill, to produce a manuscript history of the League from 1893 to present, with estimated timeline to completion of four years, 2018 to 2022 1/8/2018: Central Body distributes media release in support of the 125th commemoration of the illegal overthrow of the Hawaiian Kingdom government on January 17  8/4/2017, Members from Branches of the revived Hawaiian Patriotic League (Ka ʻAhahui Hawaiʻi Aloha ʻĀina) at Mauna ʻAla (Royal Mausoleum), on the opening day of the first Annual Convention of the League (KAHAA) in over a century 12/17/2017: KAHAA published the first two videos to its YouTube channel 11/28/2017: The 31 resolutions adopted by KAHAA at its 2017 Convention were made publicly available on Lā Kūʻokoa (Hawaiian Independence Day) and broadcast on social media 11/11/2017: KAHAA pulished the first two videos to its Facebook page 8/4/2017-8/6/2017: The first Annual Convention of the League in more than a century was centered at the Kanaʻina Building on the grounds of ʻIolani Palace. Meetings were held with 22 Delegates assembled from the 6 chartered Branches, under the supervision of a credentialed parliamentarian. The Branches introduced 32 resolutions, of which 31 were adopted. The object of the League bylaws was amended to read as follows: The object of this League shall be to affirm the continuity of Hawaiian independence; to restore Hawaiian national identity; to exert all peaceful and legal efforts to secure for the Hawaiian People and Citizens their Civil Rights; and to ensure that the United States of America complies with international humanitarian law. The 9 officers of the Central Body were elected at the Convention as prescribed by the bylaws.
The first day of the Convention began with tributary visits, led Dr. Lynette Cruz as tour guide, to the final resting places of James Kaulia and Kuaihelani Campbell--founding patriots of the original League--at Oʻahu Cemetery, then to the final resting place of Hawaiian Kingdom monarchs at Mauna ʻAla (Royal Mausoleum), followed by a tour of ʻIolani Palace that included a special visit to the Queen's bedroom. The evening concluded with remarks by historian Dr. Ron Williams, Jr., and the Queen's Women historical reenactment directed by Hui Aloha ʻĀina o Ka Lei Maile Aliʻi. The second day of the Convention began with an Overview of Parliamentary Procedure in Hawaiian History, presented by Keokani Marciel, credentialed parliamentarian. The third day of the Convention began with attendance at the headstone dedication ceremony for Hon. William Pūnohuʻāweoweoʻulaokalani White, by Dr. Ron Williams, Jr., beginning at the Bernice Pauahi Bishop Museum and concluding at the final resting place of the historic Hawaiian patriot. The evening concluded with a presentation by Dr. Keanu Sai on the ongoing state of war between the United States and the Hawaiian Kingdom. 7/15/2017: KAHAA chartered six (6) District Branches:
3/4/2017: Ka ʻAhahui Hawaiʻi Aloha ʻĀina (KAHAA) (Hawaiian Patriotic League) was restored by the Interim Council as a revision of its own bylaws previously adopted on 8/13/2016 1/17/2017: Hui Aloha ʻĀina o Waimea was formally organized to expand awareness of the League through quarterly meetings held in Waimea, as well as the neighboring communities of Honokaʻa and North Kohala, 1/14/2017: Interim Council adopted a Code of Ethics for Hawaiian Patriots 1/4/2017: League Resolution Against U.S. Federal Recognition was sent to U.S. President, Barrack Obama, and U.S. Secretary of State, John Kerry, but no reply was ever received  7/30/2016, Information table by charter members of the revived Hawaiian Patriotic League (Ka ʻAhahui Hawaiʻi ʻAloha ʻĀina), at the annual celebration of Lā Hoʻihoʻi Ea (Sovereignty Restoration Day) at Thomas Square, Honolulu 12/28/2016: Hui Aloha ʻĀina o Ka Lei Maile Aliʻi was organized to lift up our kūpuna as an example for us to follow in practicing love of our Queen and our country 12/14/2016: Hui Aloha ʻĀina o Anahola was organized to affirm the Hawaiian Patriotic League, founded March 4, 1893, embrace the Hawaiian National identity, and inform residents of Hawaiʻi of the continued existence of the Hawaiian Kingdom 10/18/2016: Interim Council adopted a Resolution Against U.S. Federal Recognition, which was subsequently adopted by five Branches of the League over the following three months 10/8/2016: Hui Aloha ʻĀina o Honolulu was established in the Kanaʻina Building on the grounds of ʻIolani Palace, to educate our lāhui through presentations by outstanding scholars covering various aspects of Hawaiian Kingdom history.  8/13/2016: Interim Council was organized to restore Ka ʻAhahui Hawaiʻi Aloha ʻĀina o Ko Hawaiʻi Pae ʻĀina, The Hawaiian Patriotic League of the Hawaiian Islands (KAHAA), a voluntary civic association with an ordinary deliberative assembly. This was accomplished through two mass meetings (forming a single session) held by a voluntary assembly of seven charter members--including six descendants of Hawaiian subjects alive prior to January 17, 1893. 7/31/2016: Hui Aloha ʻĀina o Hilo was organized during the annual celebration of Lā Hoʻihoʻi Ea at Uncle's ʻAwa Club in Kalapana, to share the truth of our history, the steadfast commitment of our kūpuna, and a pono path forward for Hawaiʻi  7/30/2016: Charter members of the revived Hawaiian Patriotic League (KAHAA) maintained an information table within the educational space hosted by Kūʻē Petition Continues at the 173rd anniversary celebration of Lā Hoʻihoʻi Ea (Sovereignty Restoration Day) at Thomas Square in Honolulu
6/18/2016: First organizational meeting held to begin a process to restore Ka ʻAhahui Hawaiʻi Aloha ʻĀina o Ko Hawaiʻi Pae ʻĀina, The Hawaiian Patriotic League of the Hawaiian Islands (KAHAA). This historic patriotic society, organized on March 4, 1893, and dissolved on January 8, 1901, was instrumental in defeating both treaty attempts, in 1893 and 1897, in the United States Senate, to illegally annex the Hawaiian Islands. Hence, the unbroken continuity of the Hawaiian Kingdom today as a sovereign and independent nation-state under international law. 3/5/2016: Inspired by the historic Aloha ʻĀina gatherings--in solidarity with the global movement to protect Mauna Kea from further desecration--in front of the Welcome to Las Vegas sign on 4/8/2015, Hui Aloha ʻĀina o Las Vegas was organized for those folks to stay connected to the Lāhui Hawaiʻi Aloha ʻĀina—Hawaiian national body--through monthly meetups and quarterly business meetings held in celebration of Hawaiian identity as both a nationality and a culture 1/9/2016: The first in a series of eight mass meetings, held by 12 participants over a period of two months, to organize a District Branch of the historic Hawaiian Patriotic League (Ka ʻAhahui Hawaiʻi Aloha ʻĀina), in Las Vegas, Nevada. |
